Asma Elbadwai is a Sudanese-British spoken word poet, activist, basket ball player and a coach. She petitioned and succeeded in convincing the International Basketball Association to remove a ban on hijabs and religious headwear in the professional sport.
“I originally photographed Asma Elbadawi as part of a commission for BBC Three, the image formed part of a campaign which celebrates individuals who have featured in stories, documentaries and comedies across the BBC Three channel.
