Faith in 2020

62 Gladstone Street is a new art space in Peterborough showcasing the work of British Muslim artists.  We are proud to present our new programme, Faith in: 2020.

Due to these difficult times, our programme has moved to digital platforms. Faith in: 2020 will launch its youth-centric workshop programme’s online. Our two main exhibitions, Faith in Sport and Faith in Community, have been postponed and will launch later in the year.

FAITH IN SPORT aims to encourage public recognition of practising Muslims in sport, with an exhibition of portraits of acclaimed Muslim athletes Asma Elbadawi, Amir Khan, Khadijah Mellah and Ruqsana Begum. Photographers include Kate Peters, Kalpesh Lathigra, Sophie Green, Joost Vandergrug and Paul Floyd Blake. We launch this on our website to celebrate the end of Ramadan, Eid weekend 23rd / 24th May.

FAITH IN COMMUNITY embraces Peterborough’s long-standing community issues on a large scale looking at drug use. Saeed Mohammed and Community First organize community litter picking and have collected 150 hypodermic needles.  We are working with visual artist Nicholas Pankhurst to encase them in resin to exhibit the needles along with a series of talks and events around the issues.
