Malika Speaks

Malika is a Spoken Word artist and Peterborough’s Poet Laureate 2019-2021. She is driven by purpose and justice.

Tumbling rocks of elements
Dancing to the rhythm of the universe
Their twists and turns, jolts and hurls
All executed with trust

Pause if you must

Take a moment to see where you are…

Your eyes glitter like the stars
Because reality overwhelms you
And that’s okay

But don’t you see you’re a diamond in this matrix
Your voice illuminate’s the shadows
Each breath ripples the atmosphere with love
Your presence causes hearts to glow

Pause if you must

Just don’t stop on this sacred path of yours
Find and live your truth
Your spirit is essential in this web of existence
The world needs you

Tumble like the rocks of elements
Dance to the rhythm of the universe
Glide and turn, leap and twirl
Continue with faith and trust
