On June the 1st, in the early evening, we welcomed Dr Alison Davies and her research on Young Muslims in Peterborough to 62 Gladstone Street, for a brief interview and micro-exhibition of her findings. A long research project spanning a few years, Dr Alison collated the data of a large amount of questionnaires and in-depth quality discussion with secondary school students from four prominent schools in Peterborough and analysed their attitudes on immigration, Brexit, religious integration and cultural identity and also British Values.
The micro-exhibition consisted of anonymised quotes from the questionnaires and discussions that really helped understand the extent of the consciousness of these young Muslims, and non-Muslims. It helped provide a unique insight and perspective on the nature of what the current generation feel about these pressing issues and our interview with Dr Alison was so riveting, we found it organically became a conversation with our very gracious and enthusiastic audience.
We look forward to inviting more researchers soon!
